This is a Mixer Mail first! An original recipe creation. Yes, I actually have been working on a couple of recipes and this one is actually drinkable :)

The Vanilla Cream uses my favorite soft drink cream soda to make a frothy, creamy and bubbly cocktail that you and your guests are sure to love. I've made this on several occasions and its the hit of the party. Adjust the amount and type of rum according to taste. I prefer Sailor Jerry, but Captain Morgan or that Admiral Spiced Rum will work.

I would like to introduce you to a favorite podcast of mine and a JA original: Cinema Journey. Hosts Ben Martin and Tim DeBacco are local Pittsburghers who dissect DVD releases of movies and TV shows. This podcast is really entertaining and worth subscribing. Make sure you check out episode #2 when they talk about Superman. JA did the web site as well as setup all the feeds for the podcast. The show is produced at the Wrecking Crew facilities downtown.

Vanilla Cream

2 oz Spiced Rum
1 oz Half and Half
Splash of Vanilla Extract
6 oz Cream Soda

Mix rum, half and half and vanilla in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a tall glass. Fill with more ice and cream soda. Transfer drink to shaker and then back to glass to mix.
